Joseph Zielinski, Pioneer Here, DiesJoseph Zielinski, 83, a resident of Saginaw 52 years, died Tuesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Galonska, 1421 North Twentieth street. He was born in Poland March 19, 1852, and was married there September 1, 1878, to Miss Magdeline Michalski. They came to the United States, coming directly to Saginaw, in 1883. Mr. Zielinski was a member of St. Rita's church, of St. Andrew's and St. Albert's societies and the Roman Catholic Benevolent association of Saginaw.
He leaves, besides his widow, five daughters, Mrs. Hedwic Grondalski, Mrs. Galonska, Mrs. Helen Purman and Mrs. Frank Koslakiewicz-Koski of Saginaw and Mrs. William Hallman of Detroit; a brother, Stanley Zielinski of Manistee, 19 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Mrs. Galonska's home and at 9 a.m. at St. Rita's church. Rev. Fr. Stanley Sikorski will officiate and burial will be in Mt. Olivet.
